Program Areas

The organization’s major program areas include:

  • Low income housing ownership and management. PRC owns two low-income housing tax credit properties (190 units) and a 10 unit, low-income apartment complex. In addition, in its role as a community development corporation, PRC has built or rehabbed 35 single-family homes.
  • Community improvement efforts including monthly community meetings, participation in National Night Out events, free dental care events, food distribution to low-income community residents, community organizing with local tenant’s associations that serve low-income community residents.
  • 555 Senior Program: provides support, social, and other special events targeting seniors in the community.
  • Youth programming at the nearby Rick McDevitt Youth Center. Besides summer programming, youth basketball, homework assistance, computer lab access and other youth activities, PRC and partner Community Cares staff organize intergenerational learning events to connect young people in the neighborhood to seniors. At a recent activity, for example, youth helped seniors learn how to use the text function of their cell phones.
